How long does it take to get started with Balance Beam?

Most clients are fully onboarded within 3–5 business days of their first call. After you sign the service agreement and complete the onboarding form, we set up your client portal, connect your bank accounts, and begin your first month of bookkeeping. Tax-only clients can typically be onboarded within 24–48 hours.

Do I need to do anything to prepare before my first call?

No preparation required. Just come ready to talk about your business — what you do, how many transactions you have per month, and what your biggest financial pain points are. If you have a recent P&L or bank statement handy, that is helpful but not required.

What software or tools do I need to use?

Nothing to install. We handle all the software setup. Your client portal is web-based and accessible from any browser. We use QuickBooks Online for bookkeeping (included in your plan) and connect directly to your bank accounts via read-only access. You receive monthly reports via your portal.

What happens if I have questions between monthly reports?

You can reach us anytime via your client portal, email, or phone. We respond to all client inquiries within one business day. Growth and Professional plan clients have access to priority phone support. We are not a set-it-and-forget-it service — we are your ongoing financial partner.

Is there a long-term contract or cancellation fee?

No long-term contracts and no cancellation fees. Bookkeeping is month-to-month — you can cancel with 30 days written notice. We believe in earning your business every month, not locking you in. Tax preparation is a one-time engagement per tax year.
